Hi everyone! It’s Win It! Wednesday again! This week Mel has a really cute matchbook template for you that you can use as either an album or a notepad. Way too cute! Click on the preview to download the free’bee’ template, and keep reading for directions and photos of what the completed project looks like!
Ready to give it a try? Ok, here we go
1. Decorate the template any way you’d like digitally.
2. Print the templates
3. Cut out the pieces. This one is really easy to cut, all straight lines!
4. Score the matchbook cover on the score lines and fold.
5. Take the notepad pieces (you can decorate this like mini scrapbook pages if you want to use this as an album) and arrange them as you like. Place them inside the bottom flap of the matchbook cover and staple in the center.
6. Tuck the top flap of the matchbook cover into the bottom flap, like a matchbook, lol
7. Voila! You’re all done!
Here’s my project. I turned it into a mini planner for activities my daughter and I have planned for this summer. I used Spittin Seeds from Amanda Heimann to make it.
Don’t forget! Once you complete this project, come back and leave me a link to a photo of it, and you could win a $4 gift certificate to Pixel Geek Designs store at Scrap Orchard!
Until next week,
Happy Hybrid!
Hi everyone! New CT member Sally here to bring you Win It! Wednesday
Every Wednesday I’ll be here with a FREE’BEE’ template and simple tutorial for you. You’ll complete the free’bee’ project, comment with a link to a photo of your finished project, and I’ll come back each Wednesday with a random winner and a new template! The winner will receive a coupon good for $4 at Pixel Geek Designs store! Sound good? Yay! We’re launching Win It! Wednesday this week with not one, but TWO free’bee’ templates. These little gift card holders are adorable and so useful! Who doesn’t give gift cards as gifts these days? And with these templates, you can make them a bit more personal. Here are the templates, click the image to download, and the tutorial is below!
So here we go! After you download your template, decorate it however you like and print. Using scissors or a craft knife, cut out each of the shapes on the cut lines.

Once you have all the pieces cut out, use a scoring tool or the back of a butter knife to score the fold lines, being careful not to actually cut through the paper. You just want to score it. (Using a ruler helps keep score lines straight.)

Fold your pieces along the score lines, and if you wish, ink the edges. I ink the edges in almost all of my projects, I like the grungy finished look it gives.

Let the ink dry so that you won’t have it all over your fingers and smudging your project, and then glue the printed side of the pocket flaps. Fold them backward and attach the pocket to the top half of the card. (Or in the case of the wallet template, on one of the sides of the wallet.)

Now attach the greeting card inset to the other half of the purse or wallet.

If you are using a glue stick, set the card aside and let the glue dry for 10-15 minutes. If you’re using a glue runner, you can continue on without waiting. The next thing you will want to do is close the card, and punch a hole in both sides.

Thread a ribbon or string through the holes, and tie it so that the card stays closed, and voila! You’re done! Here are my finished projects for both templates

Don’t forget to come back and leave us a comment with the link to a photo of your finished project. I’ll be back next week with the winner of a $4 coupon to Pixel Geek Designs store, and a brand new free’bee’ challenge!

Okay, okay.. I know you are dying to get to the Free’Bee’.. so here it is!
of a White Christmas… in Arizona. Hey now, it’s been known to happen.. once every other millennia..! Kami and I have been talking about me starting to design digital scrapbooking products (and really, who better to teach me than my favorite sister?) and with me losing my job a couple weeks ago and all.. I am finding I have plenty of time on my hands to join her little mini-apprentice program..!
Kami came up with the idea of doing a Christmas kit because well.. we seriously both have this Christmas fetish. We love everything about Christmas.. the decorations, traditions, music and especially the movies! One of our all time favorites is White Christmas… seriously, when we were 7 and 10 years old, it was one of our favorites mostly because of all the singing and dancing. Okay, back on track, so Kami came up with the idea of making a collaboration Christmas kit inspired by White Christmas.. so there you have it. Kami did most of the designing.. I just made the alphas, cluster elements and some of the quickpages. Have no fear, she will have me slaving over a hot computer banging out full digital kits of my own in no time! But until then, you’ll just have to enjoy this gorgeous collaboration kit:
The Bundle includes The Kit, The Pages and The Words (buy it now while it’s still Fresh Fruit and you’ll get everything for only $8.00!)
So to celebrate our first ever collaboration, we both are giving you wordart from our favorite White Christmas song: Sisters!
Here is the wordart you’ll find on Kami’s blog:
And here’s the wordart for my blog:

With all the trick-or-treater’s visiting our blogs and downloading the free”bees” the blog train is sure to be a little slow… have no fear! We will all be leaving our treats up for days to come! So if you get stopped or slowed down, just make a note to come back and get pick up your treat later!
